PADDOCKS

WORMING & VACCINATION | PASTURE | FENCING

At Dalewood Agistment our priority is the horses safety and comfort. Our fencing, the safest horse fencing available and is 5 foot post and hardwood rail with an electric stand off.

We ensure we never overstock or overuse our paddocks so all paddocks have weed free grass available for the horses to graze all year long.

Worming and Vaccination is a priority and all horses must be vaccinated with Tetanus and Strangles 2 in 1 and wormed on arrival in front of us. They quarantine for a period of 2 days before entering the herd. Private Paddocks do not need quarantine. We then have a strict 2 monthly worming program in place. Dates are given on arrival.  Vaccination is done yearly.

SHARED PADDOCKS

Dalewood consists of 2 x 35 acre large paddocks, both with spring fed dams. We never overstock these paddocks and only have a maximum of 15 horses in each. This gives each horse a little over 2 acres each on which to graze. There are natural tree areas for shelter and shade in each paddock for the horses. Our horses do not need to be supplement fed over winter or summer. Please keep in mind some horses as they get older and do not cope as well, may need supplement feeding. Swapping to private paddocks over winter is a very good option for older horses that do not cope in cold weather. Shared paddocks are not serviced but we do have an added option of catching your horse for the farrier/vet/dentist. Prices on request.

PRIVATE PADDOCKS

We have 2 types of Private Paddocks - with and without a Loosebox. There is a 2 month minimum in the private paddocks. These paddocks are 3/4 of an acre each and always have a grass coverage. The Looseboxes have a lockable storage shelter beside them, for feed/rugs/tack. Included in the price, the paddocks are serviced once daily for feeding and rugging. Automatic water troughs are installed and cleaned regularly. Horse safe gates, which are knee high for the horse to avoid injury. Post and hardwood rail with a standoff electric are on every paddock. Supplement feeding is needed and the owner is to supply the feed. We have 2 x 44 gallon drums for storage in each shed along with 2 racks for hanging/drying rugs.
