WHAT PEOPLE SAY

CLAUDIA SCHULZ

When we made the difficult decision to retire my older daughter's buddy echo (OTT), we were very lucky to find this wonderful property in Macclesfield. For over 3 years now he has enjoyed the happy life in a herd environment. Very chilled, indeed. This year my younger daughter's horse also an (OTT) had to be retired as well and it was a much easier decision knowing where he could go. We are very grateful for the ongoing care that they both receive, they are well looked after, any problem or concern, we get alerted to in a very timely manner. Dalewood is a great place to go and visit your retired horse. Relaxed place thanks to the clear rules! And a very good team of caregivers!

I have been a private paddock agistee (4 Horses) at Dalewood for the past 7 years. Tracey and Sharon both manage Dalewood. Paddocks are spacious, electrified and have good quality shelters (each shelter has a sizeable lockable section for feed, tack etc.) The care at Dalewood is exceptional - Tracey, who lives on the property, is very helpful and there is no task or request that seems too hard for her. Living in the inner city of Melbourne, reliable care is paramount for me. I feel I can trust that my horses will be well cared for in my absence.

I have agisted my retired event horse Mac at Dalewood for over 10 years. Sharon and Tracey have taken exceptionally good care of him for me over the years. I currently live overseas and have done so for the last 7 years. I have complete trust in Sharon and Tracey looking after Mac. They email me regularly sending me photos and if he needs any veterinary attention they organise it immediately and consult me on what level of treatment I want. They treat Mac like he is one of their own, which is really lovely, particularly when I live so far away. I cannot recommend Sharon and Dalewood highly enough, they really look after the horses!

SUE WALLACE

I have been an agistee at Dalewood for 10 years now. I arrived with my then 25 year old thoroughbred who had been neglected and starved by a previous owner. I had the best will in the world to help the old fella but unfortunately none of the knowledge. That's where the owner of Dalewood, Sharon and the stable manager, Tracey came in. They guided me through everything I needed to know from appropriate feed and supplements to the best rugs for him and supplied me with the names of our wonderful farrier and equine vet. The knowledge between these two wonderful women is immense. Fast forward 10 years and the old fella has just turned 35. I have no doubt in my mind that he never would have made it this far without the skill, care, love and devotion these two women have for all the horses that are lucky enough to live there. Tracey is especially good at spotting if a horse just seems "off". By alerting me to a potential problem, I have been able to get early veterinary treatment which has saved his life on more than one occasion. Many a time when he has been going through a health crisis, I have arrived at the farm to find Tracey just lying in the paddock with him (even in the dead of winter!) giving him comfort and support. You can't buy that kind of care, it has to come from the heart and that's the kind of people they are. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dalewood as a first class agistment for your horse.
